2011 – Lets’s get started.

Changes to look forward to in 2011:

Our website has a new look. We hope that it is now more user-friendly and interactive, and that it better demonstrates the variety of unique fine art available to our customers. Check it out and Post your comments to let us know what you think. http://www.handyconcepts.com

The gallery has dedicated a small amount of floor space for local crafters to sell their items. As with our fine art all crafts are handmade originals. Come out to see what’s new in our Krafter’s Korner.

In February, we will begin offering select art items on Ebay as auction items. Bidding will start 5-20% below retail so you will have the chance to save on your favorite art. Watch for future posts.

Later in the year we will add more glassware and giftware that will be perfect for wedding gifts, house warmings, graduation gifts, baby showers gifts, and those must have items just because. Additionally, we will slowly introduce limited edition prints of select artwork at significantly lower price points than the originals.

Finally, one of the biggest changes/additions is of course that we are trying our hand at blogging. We encourage your input and look forward to our dialog with you. Your input will help us to cater to your needs. Also, if you already like us on Facebook you will soon be able to follow us on twitter as well.

Happy New Year – 2010 in review

In February we held our first Date Night at the Gallery. Many of you braved the harsh weather, snow banks, and icy roads to make our first event of the year a huge success. So much so we went on to host two more Date Nights due to popular demand.

Throughout the year we added new artists and new art for your enjoyment and you had the opportunity to meet a few up close and personal. We held exhibit receptions for Sherry Russo of Northern Virginia, Bernie Houston of Laurel, Maryland, Richard Allison and Judy Markel both residents of Red Lion. You discussed with them the thinking behind their art, their creative processes, and the art itself.

Kimono Door

1 of 4 benefit doors for Habitat for Humanity

Four of our artists donated time and talent to create painted doors with 100 percent of the proceeds to benefit York Habitat for Humanity. One door is already gone, three doors are still available and will be re-listed on eBay in early February, 2011. More to follow.

We teamed up with Kerry’s Green as our own Mike Anthony took on the job of hosting comedy nights twice a month at the former Red Lion Country Club, which culminated with a New Year’s Eve comedy event. Check out Kerry’s Green website to see the upcoming schedule so you can get your laugh on.

A red carpet affair

1st Anniversary, 2009

In October we celebrated our first anniversary, A Red Carpet Affair. Many of our supporters who joined us on the Red Carpet were met by our “Paparazzi”, care of Life Matters Studio, and enjoyed live music by the band Five/Four, light fare from Southern County Catering and of course the art of 30 artists and featured artist Cheryl Handy. It was truly a gala event.
